Our items are sold with the following warranty lengths starting from the date of delivery or pick up/collection in-store:

  • Refurbished Used White Goods: Three (3) months full replacement
  • Refurbished New White Goods : Six (6) months full replacement
  • Carton Damaged White Goods: One (1) year full replacement
  • Carton Damaged TVs: One (1) year full replacement
  • Refurbished TVs: One (1) year
  • Brand new furniture: One (1) year (excludes clearance products)
  • Mattresses: Peakhurst, Stanhope & Kellyville Models – Three (3) years / Zetland, Waterloo, Balmain,  Newtown & Glebe Models – Five (5) years.

Warranties

Subject to terms and conditions below, Sydney Wide Discounts agrees to replace any faulty product supplied within the warranty period. If no fault is found, standard delivery charges will apply. If customer refuses to pay standard delivery charge the warranty will be void. If it is found that the product has been damaged due to misuse such as (but not limited to) exceeding manufacturer specifications, overloading, syphoning, flooding or inappropriate installation, then the standard delivery fee will be charged.The faulty product will be replaced with the same or similar product, in terms of size and value. The replacement product’s warranty will begin from date of installation or collection from the trading premises.

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service you are entitled to choose a replacement of goods of equal or lesser value. If a failure with the goods or a service does amount to major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done, you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service. If a failure occurs Sydney Wide Discounts takes responsibility solely for the item purchased from our store.

If the item has been picked up it has to be brought back to the shop at the customers’ expense. If the customer would like the swap over item to be delivered (when the initial item has been picked up) standard delivery charges will apply. If the item has been delivered then there will be no additional charge and the swap over will be performed for free.

A returned item will only be accepted if it is in original condition. If the item is in an unsatisfactory condition, the replacement product will not be delivered and a new delivery date will be arranged at the customer’s expense as per Sydney Wide Discounts standard delivery charges.

Benefits provided to you in this warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies available to you under the law.

Making a Warranty Claim

For warranty claims, please complete the Warranty Claim form , and a member of the team will be in touch within 24 hours.

In order to make a warranty claim, proof of purchase will be required (e.g machine model/serial number, date of purchase, amount paid). Claim must be made within the warranty period. 

When making a warranty claim you must comply with directions from Sydney Wide Discount staff in relation to troubleshooting issues. Videos and photos may be requested in order to rectify any issues before next steps are taken to replace the product and any communication from Sydney Wide Discounts must be responded to within 2 business days.

Sydney Wide Discounts are not responsible for any costs that may be incurred by the customer when making a warranty claim.

Warranty of Refurbished White Goods (Fridges, Freezers, Washing Machines and Dryers) 

Our refurbished white goods are designed for personal domestic use only, not commercial. If it is found that items have been used in a commercial setting, this will void the warranty.

SWD sell all Secondhand Refurbished  items on an “as is” basis. The item the customer sees in the photos or chooses in the shop is the item that they will receive. Whilst we endeavour to capture any marks, scuffs, or scratches in photos we send there may be additional dents, bumps, cracks, rust, splits etc which were unable to be seen in photos. All items we sell are secondhand (used) refurbished, therefore inspection is highly recommended. Photos and descriptions should be used as a guide only. We do recommend inspection if aesthetics are of high priority to you. Sydney Wide Discounts is not responsible for any swap overs / returns due to incorrect choice pertaining to scratches, dents, scuffs, marks, rust, rips, scratches, missing shelves etc.

Warranty of Refurbished CHiQ TVs

Refurbished CHiQ TVs are covered by 12 months warranty. CHiQ offers in home service for TVs that are 50 inch and larger. Models which are 43 inch and smaller need to be returned to the store for an exchange. All appropriate proof such as photos/videos need to be provided for warranty claims.

Warranty of Mattresses

This warranty of SWD Mattresses covers the original purchaser with respect to a mattress that has at all times been used for normal domestic use. This warranty covers:

  • Body impressions or visible indentation or sag in the mattress surface, while no weight is applied of greater than 3cm.(Does not apply to memory foam models)
  • The fully uncompressed mattress is shorter than the Australian standard in any one direction by more than 5cm when measured from tape to tape. 
  • The mattress fails to inflate to its full size after 60 days of regular use.

This warranty does not cover:

  • Minor imperfections that do not affect the performance of the bed. These include slight variations in size and colour.
  • Individual comfort preferences relating to firmness, design, materials and feel.
  • Incorrect bed frame use.
  • Odour. Some materials have a natural odour.
  • Damage caused by the incorrect opening of the mattress or failing to follow delivery and unpacking instructions.
  • Damage caused by abusive handling, tampering, misuse or failure to use the mattress with the proper foundation or frame, including an adjustable bed frame, that has support, including centre support.
  • Use for commercial, rental or other business purposes (including but not limited to hotel use, Airbnb etc.). In such cases, the warranty period is 12 months.
  • Standard softening of the mattress after extensive use. Mattresses have a break-in period where they will conform to your body’s natural contours and weight, essentially tailoring itself to you. Up to 3 cm is perfectly normal and the mattress is only deemed faulty if a permanent indent is apparent over 3 cm when no weight is applied. 

Warranty of Brand New Furniture

If an item arrives that is missing parts, is faulty, is defective or has been damaged during manufacturing, please take photos or video clearly illustrating the problem and contact us within 3 business days of receiving your delivery. If you do not do this you may not be able to claim on the warranty. Our manufacturer warranty policy does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage arising from improper installation, assembly or modification
  • Damage arising from abnormal use or abuse
  • Damage, wear and tear as a result of improper or lack of maintenance and/or care (e.g. fabric, leather or timber)
  • Damage to external or product packaging only
  • Damage occurring during your own handling and transportation of goods from a Click & Collect pick up location
  • Insignificant minor variations in dimensions, colour, grain or finish
  • Insignificant minor imperfections or superficial blemishes
  • Change of mind

With regards to Sofas, Sofa Beds and Lounges; scuff marks, compression (not failure) and change of shape of cushions, body impressions less than 32mm, fabric pilling, loose or fraying stitching, tears to dust covers & small tears do not constitute a manufacturers defect and not covered by warranty.

Deliveries

Our experienced delivery men will take all caution possible and will endeavour to deliver items in sold condition but cannot guarantee there will not be any minor marks or bumps in transit as there is no packaging.

Sydney Wide Discounts will take reasonable care but cannot guarantee that floors or walls will not get dirty, wet, or incur minor scuffing or minor indentations during the delivery process. Sydney Wide Discounts suggests that you cover floors or walls to protect them.

You are responsible for ensuring that the route(s) from the boundary of the premises to the specific delivery location (and, if applicable, the location of the old goods) is of sufficient size, safe and clear of obstacles. In particular, please bear in mind the weight of the goods to be delivered and whether the floors are strong enough for the load and whether tiles or other floor coverings or materials could be damaged as a result of this weight. To the full extent permitted by law, Sydney Wide Discounts shall not be responsible for any loss, cost, damage, expense, injury or death arising from the structure, fixtures or fittings of the premises being unable to bear the weight of the goods.

You warrant to Sydney Wide Discounts that all information you provide to Sydney Wide Discounts regarding the delivery is correct and complete. If this is not the case, in addition to its other remedies available at law, Sydney Wide Discounts may refuse to deliver the goods and/or remove the old goods and/or may require the payment of extra fees.

Delivery – Refurbished, Carton Damaged and New Whitegoods (fridges, washing machines & dryers)

Standard delivery charges include installation using existing fixtures, pipes and fittings (no extra parts will be supplied, only what comes with the machine). Please note, our drivers do not hang dryers. 

Standard delivery charges include the removal of one old unit of similar size. The unit must be in clean condition and without mould, food waste, pests or infestation. If the old item does not meet these conditions, the delivery team have the right to refuse removal. 

Delivery – Brand New Products (lounges, sofas, bed frames & mattresses)

Standard delivery charges for brand new in box furniture and mattresses is a drop service. Our delivery team will take the product into your home and place where requested, or can be instructed to leave in a safe location if no one is home at the time.

Setup and installation of bed frames and lounges/sofas can be requested for an additional fee per item, which also includes removal of packaging. Just select ‘Add Assembly’ before adding your chosen product to your cart.

Please note, our delivery team will not be able to assemble if this has not been booked or requested at least 24 hours before your delivery date. 

Re-Delivery Fees

Our delivery team will send a text message the night before delivery to confirm a two hour delivery window for the following day.

If a delivery date is selected nominating “No Stairs at the property” and there are stairs at the property, the delivery will not be completed. The goods will need to be delivered at a later date, when it is safe for our team to do so. A re-delivery fee will be apply in these circumstances. 

If the customer is unable to receive the delivery when the team arrives, a re-delivery fee will apply. If the customer refuses to pay the re-delivery fee, the sale will be considered incomplete.

Cancellation / Re-Stocking Fees 

Cancellation requests made by phone or email more than 24 hours prior to your arranged delivery date will incur a 10% cancellation fee. The cancellation fee is 10% of the total order. 

Cancellation Requests made by phone or email under 24 hours prior to your arranged delivery date will incur a 10% cancellation fee plus a 10% re-stocking fee. The cancellation plus re-stocking fee is 20% of the total order. 

Change of Mind / Returns with no Fault

Change of Mind / Returns with no fault requests made at point of delivery incur 20% re-stocking fee applied to the total order. The driver will notify the shop and remove the product(s) on the spot. The refund minus the above mentioned fees will be processed within three (3) business days. 

Change of Mind / Returns made post-delivery within seven (7) days of the delivery date will incur 20% re-stocking fee applied to the total order, and a collection fee which is charged at the standard rate for the delivery’s location. Please note, the product must not be used and in the same condition it was delivered. The refund minus the above mentioned fees will be processed within three (3) business days following collection of the product(s). 

Chenge of mind / Returns for brand new CHiQ products with the box and/or packaging removed will incur a 30% re-stocking fee applied to the purchase price, and a collection fee which is charged at the standard rate for the delivery’s location. The refund minus the above mentioned fees will be processed within three (3) business days following collection of the product(s).

Deposits

All deposits are non-refundable and there will be no exchange/refund for change of mind. All Sydney Wide Discounts products are sold as is or as seen in photographs.
